so called onsite

What do you expect me to say .. just back another meeting. These meetings are actually killing me :( Followed by a long call with my manager about a mail that we received from my offshore counterparts.
the rift between the offshore and onshore team is becoming a never ending story.

We just keep questioning each other for no good reason ... absolute nonsense.

believe it or not, during my early days On-site was like GOD to us and we just do what ever they ask us to do.In fact i used to hate that, now i am here in the US and its not right for me to expect them to close their eyes and blindly follow ma instructions...
All that i need is more interaction with my team, esp: i want to discuss about the issue with everyone and not the leads alone.
The distance between us, i mean with my team is actually growing day by day and I am sure one day they are going ask MAHESH ... WHO ????

Well we cant blame anyone and they may have their own reason behind it :)

speed

It happened few months back... but really forgot to post this and it was in draft for a long time now ...

days are moving really fast .... weekends gets over in a flash and by the time I realize its Monday again... it was just another Thursday and told ma friend Suman... "i am sick of spending ma weekend in Mysore" ... we both thought of going to coorge... 2 guyz 2 bikes. Thursday evening we both were in the bowling alley and the plan got changed, coorge became wayanad. Friday evening: we both sat together and searched for some resort in wayanad where we can spend the weekend... noted down few names n took photo copy of the bike papers... played bowling again and we both headed towards our place to take some rest b4 starting. It was 5 in the morning and ma alarm was ringing, as usual i kept pressing the snooze button and continued to sleep till 6. Then i started getting sms after sms. It was Suman. The message read "Get UP U B******". I got the same message ard 17 times. Finally i woke up, took a fast track shower, packed all the necessary items and started my enticer. Finally at 7.15 i reached Suman’s place.
we wasted no time, we went to the nearest petrol bunk, "Tank full plzzz". We are all set for wayanad.
Believe me... it was awesome to drive in the highway when its empty. The best part was we dint cross the 60Km/hour mark for a long time which made the ride even more pleasant. We made our first pit stop at around 9 and got our self fueled with idly and coffee. Soon after that we were forced by the rain god for an unscheduled second stop... we started again after a small group and on the way saw a group of infy folks having tea. We knew some of them so had a small chit chat and came to know that they are heading towards ooty.
Finally it stopped raining and we started the bikes again. We reached Kerala border.. no wonder they call it the Gods own country.
We never thought the roads in Kerala would be that good .. suddenly Suman stopped his bike and was waving at me to stop. I took a U-turn and what a surprise there was a T-shop in the middle of the forest, and the shop was located on a small tree house. Pitstop # 3: tea and bajji.
Finally we reached Wayanad and dam it was so hot. We checked with the locals and reached Edakkal Caves which is very near to Ambalavayal around 12:30pm.

Inside the caves formed in-between the rocks ancient petroglyphs which dates back 4000-5000 years back are visible. The name Edakkal means in-between in Malayalam. Yes, the caves are formed by the “in-between” space of those gigantic rocks. Those alphabets and symbols seen on the cave walls are identified to be part of the Neolithic age. (4000Bc to 1700bc)

The caves are about 300 feet from the ground level and we have to trek up to reach the cave.
The roads are well build but we can’t take the bike as the slope is too much.
Well they have commutation facilities provided in Jeep by the local people. But we have already decided to walk, but at the same time to our surprise we dint see any jeep operating on that day. Well i thought it was lunch time.

The path towards the caves turned to be difficult to climb up. We had to go through small passages though the rocks, which almost looked like a cave. Finally we reached the caves and guess what .. "IT WAS CLOSED FOR MAINTENACE".

We trekked back to the parking with our heart filled with disappointed smiles   

Now comes the turning point … Suman was so frustrated and he said this F*** place is so hot … and with a sarcastic smile I told him is not Ooty. That’s it the plan got changed and we both decided to go to ooty … well if u remember it was very much like the speed ad with “Naren Karthigeyan” and “Dhoni” , where they travel from one place to another just for the climate.

But my bike was not ready for a cold, hilly place and she was in need of some makeup. So changed the engine oil, checked the brakes and few more changes. Mean time we had our late lunch. We were all set and its ooty this time and Suman was our GPS till we reached the Tamilnadu border. Hez basically a mallu and was able to communicate with the locals and get the route. Finally we reached the check post and the same routine questions… both the bikes were registered in Mysore and our TN police started asked a hell of questions in a awesome broken English .. I showed him my Tamilnadu license and he asked why are we going to ooty via Wayanad. Our answer was pretty straight forward “ WAYANAD IS HOT” .. he got pissed off and called his inspector. What else do you expect now .. some bargaining and finally they let us go.

Now comes the worst part but the most interesting part… there was literally no road for about 15 KM, it was up the hill and on top of it .. it started raining  We took more than 1.5 hours to cover that 15 odd KMs and finally saw the proper road … and it was all tears of joy. If I am correct we both took some 30 mins break.

About 7 PM we reached Ooty … man it was lovely and we booked a costliest suite in Lake View Paradise .. our basic and only requirement was TV with ESPN  all that we wanted was to see the Man United – Arsenal match …

Now what else do you expect two guys to do .. watch the match .. celebrate UNITED VICTORY the victory in the rain, had good rest, settled the hotel bills and that’s it back to Mysore

Mysore -> Wayanad -> Ooty -> Mysore

Now we are planning for Munar trip …we are the boyz gang.

Swipe Out (as we call it)

It all happened in a flash …

We all got a mail from the HR - there is going to be a inter DC video competition ... Basically I talk a lot among our group and believe me some times it just torture them by talking. So they actually wanted me to act in that movie and they are going to make sure there is not going to be any dialogs for me ... As usual I dint take that seriously and in fact forgot about the video competition

One fine day Rudesh called me to his cabin played me a old video clip directed by ‘ZACH LIPOSVSKY’ and asked me how it is … I said awesome and he said I am going to act in the remake of the movie which they are planning to shot it for the competition… I was just back from an small accident and I was not even able to walk properly. I had no other options but to say yes (end of the day he is one of my boss).

It was Sunday morning :( we went to office and had a rehearsal of the movie .. It went out well and we were asked dress up in formals and take the final shit…. Oops shot.

I went home and came back in full formals, people were looking me wired … of course they will when they look a dumb idiot walking around in formals on a Sunday.

We were all set and started shooring the film… believe me I gave a hard time to Rudresh. If Vivek (my co star) can finish in shot in 2-3 takes I make sure it take around 5-6 :D

We spent about 6 hours for this 3 mins movie and at the end of the day it came out really nice.

That’s it our work is over… but poor director spent hours in editing and adding the sound efforts to the movie. Once the final version was out I was like wow… great… awesome (not able to think of any other words). I was not able to believe ma own eyes . I am actually looking myself in the screen and I am not that bad you know ..

I would to thank Mr. X who actually started forwarding the movie and now it have reached almost all the software engineers in my place and that’s the power of internet.

i think Rudesh will we having the complete video (unedited/unrated (lol)) .. i will try to get them and write a blog on making of the movie ASAP.
